The new Detective Conan movie, The Raven Chaser that premiered in Japanese cinemas April 18 has currently sold about 2,910,000 tickets and has raked in more than ¥3.4b in revenues, setting a new record as the highest-grossing Detective Conan film that was previously held by the 6th film, The Phantom of Baker Street.

The film, focuses on Conan’s bitter enemies, the Black Organization, something which hasn’t been done since the 5th film, Countdown to Heaven. In the film, a new member of the organization, Irish discovers the identity of Conan, putting him and his friends in danger.

I’m a big fan of the Detective Conan series and have been reading it since I was in high school. I watched the 12th film just after it came out a year ago and was pretty disappointed with it. This one however seems to be showing some promise. I want to watch it!
