The Cultural Affairs Agency recently made the decision to build a national art center in Tokyo aimed at promoting anime, manga, and games. The center is intended to boost the related art industries and becoming a popular tourist attraction. It is expected to debut in two to three years.
The center will be a four-to-five story building with total floor space of 10,000 square meters. The location has yet to be decided but the agency is considering an area in the Odaiba entertainment district. The agency is hoping the center will be as popular as Tokyo’s Akihabara district.
