Mobile phone service provider NTT DoCoMo has revealed the limited edition SH-06A ‘Nerv Only’ phone in collaboration with the release of Evangelion 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance next month. Manufactured by Sharp, the phone will have a matte coating finish, a holographic NERV logo on the front and emerald green lights for the keypad.
You can also choose from different themes to use on the phone, with each theme representing a character from the series. The phone is only limited to 30,000 sets for the whole of Japan. 20,000 units will be sold through DoCoMo outlets and Evangelion Store while the remaining 10,000 will be sold through DoCoMo’s online shop or other general sellers. Preorders and reservations will start from June 5 till June 15. No price is set yet.
Man, I want this phone so bad. Director Hideaki Anno personally supervised the design of the phone so it should look good. I like how they somehow merged the old and new NERV logo on the phone too.
